You are reporting the following problem report for being abusive, containing personal information, or similar:

Dear sirs, I have recently purchased a property on Victoria Square, Clifton (BS8 4ES). Having grown up locally this Square has been known to me for many, many years. I must praise the grass cutting services, that whilst not always collecting the grass, is regular and they do a very good job. What I am less pleases about is the general state of repair of the council maintained infrastructure on the square. The beautiful Victorian gas lamp converted street lighting is decaying, rusting to the bare metal where it hasn't been painted for at least a decade. Paving slabs are falling off and desperately need pointing, drain covers have collapsed, meters of wiring running up from drains has been left in the street for months. Bins are too infrequently placed so rubbish piles up on floors. Trees are so overgrown on the west side of the Square that by the corner near the arch they are more than half the way over the road, soon to be touchable from people's balconies. The capping stones that line the perimeter of the square gardens are often missing, damaged or lose. Whilst I write this mostly in frustration of the neglect and lack of care demonstrated by the council to what is one of its most beautiful and historically significant squares I also write with serious health and safety concerns through this neglect of care. I am aware that budgets are tight but the needless expense on countless projects around the city need be carefully scrutinised, caring for our historic architecture is a must and there clearly is a lack of maintenance allocation of funds or a schedule of works in place. You have registered the significance and importance of this Square by its grade 2* listing status and the sanctioning of it as a conservation area, meaning I can't even change the colour of my door yet you set a precedent of leaving the historic features of the external square to slowly decompose. It is not too late to save these features but action must be taken now before they are lost for good, something no one wants for such a tourist hotspot. I hope you value my feedback and welcome positive change and communication at your earliest convenience, Best regards, Rupert 07871275419 Sent from my iPhone
