Hedeges on NW side of Whitefield Road (between 173 and Mayfield Park South) are growing over the pavement.

Reported by Richard Lafferty at 10:16, Fri 5 July 2019

Hedeges on NW side of Whitefield Road (between 173 and Mayfield Park South) are growing over the pavement. This makes it very dangerous pushing a pushchair and walking a young child to nursery every morning as it is very close to the road side and this is a busy route used by a lot of vans, buses, lorries and other commercial vehicles (many of whom do not respect the 20mph speed limit). The issue has been going on for a long-time and I can see that it was reported on this site as far back as 2016. In the short-term, the solution needs to be that the hedges are trimmed regularly through the summer (last year, I think they were only one trimmed once). In the long-term, the pavement needs to be widened, traffic calming introduced and a better junction / crossing at the junction of Mayfield Park South / Whitefield Road / Argyle Road as at present you need to walk down Whitefield Road to a small crossing and then walk back up.
