Uneven pacement slabs

Reported anonymously at 15:40, Wed 8 January 2020

The entire length of pavement from Blackboy hill, queens road and park street needs urgent inspection. We have witnessed today numerous pedestrians tripping on uneven slabs loose ones and areas around trees outside of the BBC offices where slabs are raised more than 6" and loose tarmac has been applied over the problem. as we were walking up blackboy hill approaching the corner of grove road I tripped on a large pavement protrusion that sent me spread eagle across the pavement, my face missing a steel roadside pole by inches and my shoulder hitting the post very hard, rugby tackle style. Not a pleasant experience at aged 70+ ! May we suggest you get staff out of the office to walk this route, preferably not bothering with white paint spray cabs, and note the dozens of misaligned slabs before you get numerous claims for compensation for injuries. Other very poorly maintained areas are outside of the student cafe by West of England art academy where we witnessed another tripping incident today. The whole pedestrian route is now a health and safety liability and should never have reached this state ! We are copying this to our local councillor.
