Blocked drain on Downend Road at the junction with Strathmore Road

Reported anonymously at 11:54, Monday 23 August 2021

Every time it rains, the corner of Downend Road and Strathmore Road BS7 is flooded. This is caused by a blocked drain! It has been reported on ‘Fix-my-street’ several times over the past few years and absolutely nothing has been done. However, with the recent rains, anything more than a light shower has caused the entire road to be flooded across the total width. It is now getting to the state that houses on the opposite side of the road to the drain, which are lower than the road are in danger of being inundated, not only by the ‘bow waves’ of passing traffic, but by the sheer volume of water which drains down Strathmore Road and drains on the other side of the road are unable to cope with, because debris is washed over the road and is now blocking them.
