Confusing and vandalised signs Reported anonymously at 09:14, Tue 24 August 2021 The bike lane signage on either end of the bridge was painted over during one of the lockdowns, and signs were installed to make the bridge a one-way system. Over the last few months the paint covering the original bike lane signage has worn away, revealing the old signage. Additionally, the newer one-way signage on the floor has faded, and signage attached to the bridge has been covered in spray paint and stickers. As both old and new signage is on display, it is unclear which signs to follow. This has caused numerous altercations between cyclists and pedestrians over which side of the bridge they should be on. During a single bridge crossing (19/08/2031), I witnessed a cyclist nearly hit 2 small children following the one-way signage, as the cyclist followed the bike lane signage, placing them both on the same side and travelling towards one another. In the same crossing a pedestrian family verbally harassed a cyclist for following the bike lane signage, even though the cyclist moved out of their way and waited to let them pass. Events like this seem to be becoming more frequent.
