CCTV covering footpath
Reported anonymously at 20:59, Wed 15 March 2017
Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1003747.
Some months aso, the owner of 12 Southover Close installed CCTV which is directed at a public footpath. Lots of children use this footpath and I am uncomfortable with it being there. As far as I can tell, this is contravening the Data Protection Act.

I was told this was a police matter. However I think they have enough to do and the council should sort out matters like this.

I think the owner is right to have the CCTV there. It is more than likely an attempt to prevent the wanton damage to the fences that has occured on numerous occasions and other criminal acts, such as burning of stolen bikes, graffiti..etc..that are taking place in our area. You never know, it might also capture images of the irresponsible dog walkers who allow their dogs to foul everywhere and don’t clear it up, which is a health hazard to your children!!
