Large taxi van parking problem

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 13:21, Wed 23 August 2017

Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later

This taxi van is two car spaces wide. The owner refuses to park on his own driveway, but is not averse to partially covering someone else's driveway or taking up parking spaces in a road where parking is at a premium. There are two other cars in the family and the driveway is never used.

  • I am the owner of the vehicle photographed and sent to yourselves. I refute was has been alleged and have only parked slightly protruding the dropped section of the kerb. The car was only there for a maximum of 5 minutes and there was no car on the neighbour’s property. I was loading the vehicle with items at the time which I was unable to do on my drive. The neighbour concerned was easily able to park their car on the drive. Despite the clear attempt of this person to defame me, it can be clearly concluded this is not a genuine reason for their endeavours. We don’t have three cars in our household as the alleger suggests and only two, (the neighbours concerned have 5) and we always use our own drive when we can. We are always considerate to other using a very limited number of parking spaces. For this reason we sometimes park a good distance away from our home so not to upset our immediate neighbours. I would also like to take this opportunity to mention that there is an ongoing issue with the person concerned in term of a racially aggravated incident. This has been reported to the police and is being dealt with SARI as an open case. We have recorded logs of all incidents including the day of this report when we were sworn at. We refuse to live under a siege like situation from people who are showing obvious wanton hate towards us. It’s unfortunate that we are having to go through this. If we were able to move form where we were we do so immediately. We don’t have any issues with any of our other neighbours and just want to live out our lives in peace. I would very much like the council to contact me so I can fully explain all that is happening here. And that these allegations are completely without merit.
