Fire has eroded the top surfaces of both road and the pavement. The rain today has added to the damage. The road has a large number of pedestrians including school children with attendant buggies etc. Detritus from the damage gets onto shoes and is carried into houses, also wheelchair users, including my daughter, are finding it difficult as damage is spread accross most of the width of the pavement and impossible to avoid. As damage is right on the junction of two roads, people don't see it until it is too late and they are on it. An oily deposit is leeching from the damaged areas and is staining the gutter as it runs down the road.
