Dog waste being left on private properties paths and bins by dog walkers
Reported in the Dog fouling category anonymously at 18:31, Tue 10 April 2018
Sent to Bristol City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1276908.
Dog walkers are trespassing on the grounds of private residences, using it as shortcut to get to there homes locally, letting their dogs foul the paths and also leaving waste in residents bins. This has been happening for months now and I am at my wits end. It is a health hazard and dangerous to people with a health condition like me. I need to know how to tackle it/report it to the Police/ have the offenders prosecuted as I think they are doing it whilst I am at work or late at night. Notices have been left asking the individuals to dispose of their animals in their own bins. Please can you contact me urgently.

It is apparent the council does not take this issue seriously. It is clear it is not concerned with dog owners flagrantly breaking the fouling laws, letting their dogs foul the public pavements and also tresspassing on private residents properties to use privately owned bins to deposit their dog waste bags with no repercussions or prosecution. The dog wardens; well what can I say, didnt bother calling me but just sent an e-mail saying they could put up signs and what they couldn’t do. I would be interested to know how much they get paid and the value for money their role provides to the public purse. All this council seems to do is waste tax payers money. Its instigated useless traffic system changes and delays, costing millions of overspend and allowing a private company to run a public transport system which is not fit for purpose, ripping off the general public with there astronomic fares and restrictive travel options. Travelling on the bus service in Bristol (First) costs more than travelling in the nations capital, London. It truly is laughable, you compare Bristol to other cities which has excellent public transport services and it is very clear how inefficiently the city is run. How the council gets away with its lunatic decisioning, lack of looking at how other cities get it right and looking to adopt similar models , their wasting of tax payers money and constant complaining of having no money is quite beyond me. To be frank the local elections cannot come along quick enough.

Whilst the dog waste issue on Westover has improved, sonce the council have put up the warning signs and CCTV in place to catch the offenders using residents paths and bins to enable successful prosecution. Unfortunately, the back cut down to Southover Close and Southover Close is just as bad, CCTV is being used/collected around there to catch and prosecute the culprits also. Its not the dogs faults but unfortunately the irresponsible owners and thus issue seems only to have happened over recent years with seeminglynew people who have moved into the area. So one can only imagine where they came from and what there homes are like if they treat there local area like this. The fines for the offence are quite sizeable nowadays and I have been advised repeat offenders can have other actions which can be taken against them.
