Uneven surface following Virgin Media cables

Reported in the Pavement Defect category by Simon Hobeck at 14:02, Mon 30 April 2018

Sent to Bristol City Council 3 minutes later

Following installation of cables, the trench has been resurfaced but is not flush. In places the new tarmac is about 10mm raised from the pavement surface causing a trip hazard.

  • Good to hear a job has been raised. Is this the original contractors coming back to fix it, or does the council have to pay someone else to resolve it?

  • This has not been fixed - stop being silly! The pavement was smooth, Virgin Media dug it up and then did a poor quality repair. It is now mot flat or even and is a trip hazard. parts have bumps raised 2cm. Virgin Media should fix it properly.

  • Issue remains open. The surface was flat and smooth. Virgin Media dug it up and resurfaced it badly. It is now lumpy and raised. Some areas of tarmac are ridged and are 2cm higher than the original surface. This has created an uneven surface that is worse than was there before. The contractors did not "Make good" following their works. I first raised this 10 months ago. Ignoring does not mean the problem goes away.
