Obstructed visibility on roundabout approach

Reported in the Obstruction category anonymously at 15:49, Tue 29 May 2018

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later

The shrubs in the landscape area in the central reserve are obstructing visibility to the right for drivers at the roundabout give way line. Visibility of the nearest quadrant of the roundabout should be available from 15m back from the give way line - see fig 8/4 TD16/07 DMRB 6.2.3. As it is, it is necessary to creep over the line to be able to check to the right before proceeding, and my car is taller than most, so my eye height is more like 1.5m as opposed to the required 1.05m. This is an urgent safety issue.

    State changed to: Fixed

  • I drove this route at around midday on Saturday 16th June and the problem has definitely NOT been fixed. Just passing a problem on to "the appropriate department" is not enough to fix it. In the three weeks since my first report the vegetation has of course continued to grow and the problem is even worse than before.
