The CSA limestone has been deployed to provide a temporary fix for the melting bitumen. The use of this material is potentially hazardous to health (respiratory, dermatological and eyesight). Operatives working with this material are advised to use breathing respirator, eye guards and avoid skin exposure. ETM have confirmed that they were instructed to carry out the work by Bristol City Council. My daughter is experiencing breathing difficulties and we are all experiencing skin and eye irritation. All the vehicles in the road are covered in a layer of fine dust. Ingress into households is inevitable. We are unable to open windows. As a matter of urgency a council representative accompanied by a health and safety inspector should visit the location to assess the situation with a view to providing a solution quickly.
