Very poor standard of Worrall Road resurfacing

Reported in the General Highways Enquiry category by Neal Gordon at 10:34, Fri 6 July 2018

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later

The recent resurfacing work is extremely untidy. Excess gravel and tarmac, different colours, gutter stones covered, uneven surface. This is particularly bad around the junction of Worrall Road and Anglesea Place. A gutter drain almost on the corner of Worrall Road and Anglesea Place is now obstructed by gravel and tarmac. This drain struggles at the best of times. It looks to me as if the contractors' work was not checked and approved.

  • Yes, the general resurfacing is finished but the gulley drain on Worrall Road adjacent to Anglesea Place is still obstructed by the new tarmac and gravel. Please note that this drain cover forms part of the pavement so the grid is vertical. Even a very small amount of debris will block the grid very quickly.

  • I second this - as will my neighbours on Anglesea Place. The resurfacing appears to be unfinished. A day was reserved, and all cars moved, for the road to be resurfaced after gravel was laid. This didn't happen, and eventually road markings were painted over the top of loose gravel.

In 7 years of living on this street the surface is in worse condition than it ever has been.

Gravel is getting everywhere, not just in drains.

The bitumen didn't set correctly and is still on the surface in places, which is pulling up gravel when cars drive over it, not to mention getting into everybody's homes.

    Really, really bad job!
