No flat pavement due to tree roots

This tree is located at the bottom of Claremont Road near the Gloucester Road end outside Gillham House.
I was walking down the road with my wife this morning. Passing the tree I fell as my foot slipped because of the slope over the roots. I ended up on my backside with a damaged, swollen, blooded and bruised finger. I was lucky it wasn't broken. The pavement was wet from earlier rain. I also spilt the contents of, and broke, the plastic bag that I was holding. I visited the shop around the corner DreamDoors and the manager said that he had also slipped that morning and showed me his damaged finger also.
The whole pavement down the hill was parked with cars and dustbins for collection which meant up to that point we had to walk in the road. this was the first opportunity to actually get on the pavement.
Problem needs fixing.

Re my original report I found I had broken my finger. I am still having problems with the hand as it triggered traumatic rhematoid arthritis in both hands.
