  • As described by a few people by now - this road is constantly covered in litter/rubbish/all sorts including abandoned tents. This is a conservation area and it's shocking that council does nothing to improve the state of the road. People reported the very same problem a few times, going back to April 2017 (Rubbish all along sides of road), July 2018 (Road cleaning needed), October 2018 (Litter all over pavements and road), January 2019 (Litter & Homeless tents). It's shocking nothing is done about this considering the road being near Troopers Hill (wildlife / nature), river, and Mama Bear's Nursery. What needs to be done in order for the road to be regularly cleaned?

  • I have complained directly about this to Fabian Breckels and Steve Pearce on the council, the latter being in charge of road cleaning. The council are disputing that they own this land & are therefore refusing to clean the site, so I have asked them who they think the landowner is. Strange given that they either own or once owned most of the land along here before they sold it all for housing. Please let's all keep on at them, the more pressure the better.

  • Thanks for the update. I emailed in the past and liaised with Bristol Waste company ( Apparantly the inaccessible areas of Crew's Hole Rd are not covered by the contract between Bristol Waste Company and Bristol City Council. Bristol Waste Company sent details of the abandoned camp site to The Noise (Charity that operates with volunteers, primarily on the May Day bank holiday weekend). There are no promises to Bristol Waste as The Noise do not know how many volunteers they will have on the weekend and what their priorities will be on the day (understandably). I'm writing a complaint to Customer Relations Team, 100 Temple Street, PO Box 3176, Bristol, BS3 9FS.

It would be great if more people join in and raise complaints in a hope that this road will be cleaned (hopefully on regular basis considering it's conservation area too).
