Retaining wall to 3 adjoining houses has blown down

Reported in the Retaining Wall category anonymously at 15:51, Mon 11 February 2019

Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later

THe high winds blew down the back wall in the back gardens to 3 or 4 houses in Vernon Street. Please can you advise if Bristol City Council is responsible /joint with home owners or if the home owners are responsible? It backs onto rough ground owned by the council. We rent out number 4 and need to know more information and how to proceed as it is affecting several houses. Please can you email or call me? Thank you

  • Hello - I am the owner of No.2 Vernon Street and would like to discuss who has ownership of the retaining wall, as my wall has also failed.

I would also be interested in discussing potentially acquiring the freehold to a small parcel of land beyond the wall so that I can extend my garden and step my garden down by 3 or 4 metres, if this is possible.
