Reported in the Utlility Covers category anonymously at 08:47, Mon 18 February 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1547271.
The drain cover in the road outside no 80 is faulty. Each time a car drives over it, it sounds like soumeines slamming my front gate. This occurs day and night!

You raised the job 28/03 and again 07/06.
So how many times does the job have to be raised before it actually gets fixed.
This is driving me mad! 😡

The manhole is gradually sinking and the clanging getting louder. With the amount of traffic using the road it is a danger and could well collapse.

Wessex water employee says the manhole cover outside no. 78 Parsons Street, in the middle of the junction crossing for pedestrians is "bouncing out of the road". Manhole cover needs attention as soon as possible.

I’m wondering how long it takes to reinstate a manhole. This one is constantly driven over by Buses and HGV entering Parsons Street. It’s been getting worse since March.

I waked past this this morning and the manhole cover has sunk even farther and bounces everytime a vehicle goes over. As this is now the only way into Parsons Street from Hartcliffe Way, all the buses for the Depot and large lorries for the trading estates all use it. This is apart from the constant clanging day and night. It was reported in February and we are now in August. How long does it take the Council to sort things?

Thought I’d update everyone that has commented on my initial complaint back in Feb!
Apparently, this is the responsibility of Virgin Media to repair and a section 10 18 has been issued. So don’t hold your breath, as we may be waiting another six months before it gets fixed.
I was told this on Monday 29th July AND that a temporary fix is planned, but again, nothings happened!
