Drain grille in road has sunk.

Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 16:04, Sat 30 March 2019

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later

Close to the kerb, the drain grille has sunk, causing a very deep depression, akin to a pothole. Passing cars have to run over this and could cause damage to suspension as it it not obvious until the jolt is felt.

  • It hasn't been rectified, but I'm wondering if it hasdn't sunk - it just was that the original tarmac of the road was built up around the sides, making the actual drain then sit within a deep depression. Either way, driving over this, which has to be done to accommodate bi-directional vehicles, results in suspension being seriously stressed and jolted.
