New dropped kerb will obstruct drainage
Reported in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 13:21, Fri 12 April 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1601692.
The pavements in Clifton Park Road are being repaired/renovated. We have a brand new dropped kerb outside no. 46 which looks very nice but is unfortunately a couple of inches higher than the previous one. This will obstruct water drainage from our drive and create puddles. Previously water drained easily from our drive into the street gutter. The recent work has inevitably partly broken up the end of our drive creating new cracks and looseness of a couple of sections. These have now been patched up by the operatives working on the project but only superficially and I anticipate that the areas concerned will become unstable again soon. I acknowledge that the condition of our drive was previously far from perfect but there was no problem with either drainage or loose sections. I think the problems I have identified could be dealt with easily by removing the unsecure sections and laying some new concrete to replace them and to facilitate drainage from the drive. The area involved is quite small.
