Very loose manhole cover under the railway bridge

Underneath the railway bridge and right outside our bedroom window, is a manhole cover which has steadily been getting looser and looser for the last couple of months and now makes a really loud noise every single time a vehicle drives over it. I’ve been wide awake since 6am as the rattle is so loud it stops me sleeping. It’s only going to get worse once the new housing estate is built and for the sake of our wellbeing, my husband and I would vibe very grateful if the problem could be fixed as soon as possible. I’ve been out to look at the manhole cover and it rocks from side to side significantly now, whereas before it was just a slight movement.

  • Hi. The noise is getting worse and now wakes me in the early hours. Will anything be done about this manhole in the near future? It is incredibly noisy and visitors to our home All comment on it.
