Noisy manhole cover

In March 2017, I reported that one of a pair of sewer covers at the top of Holmwood Gardens was noisy when driven over. The cover itself was secure but the frame in which it is mounted was loose in the surrounding tarmac. According to the FixMyStreet record, the job was “Closed” and its status changed to “Fixed” in August 2018. In short, it was not fixed and the situation remains unchanged. To aid identification, please see the attached photograph - the rocking cover is marked with an “X”.

  • Pleased to confirm that the manhole cover in question has been marked-out today (see pic). So, is this confirmation that some sort of palliative action will soon be delivered?
