There is a road sign at the top of Sandburrows Road BS13 8DR, on the corner with Highridge Green BS13 8AB. A few months ago it was damaged (again, see below); there is now an empty signpost waiting for the name ‘Sandburrows Road’ to be added to it. Instead, a new signpost with Sandburrows Road on it has been erected this week on the corner of Highridge Green BS13 8AB and the A4174 Colliters Way South Bristol Link Road as per the attached diagram. This is about 100 yards away from the correct location, where the old signpost is still sitting there waiting for its name to be added. Please move the nameplate from the new sign to the old signpost. The new signpost could then be removed if it’s redundant, unless a new sign was supposed to be put up there for the new Colliters Way? Over the last 20 years, a vehicle has collided with this corner probably about a dozen times, so a concrete bollard was erected to the left of the Sandburrows Road sign to prevent further damage to the rear fence of number 1 Acorn Grove. The residents are by now probably used to having cars crash into their back garden, but if the bollard were moved to the right of the sign, then the council might have to replace the sign less often. The next collision is probably due in 2020/2021, though it might be less often now that the Link Road is open. While the sign and bollard are being moved, it might also be a good idea to install a mini-roundabout at the junction of Highridge Green and Colliters Way, because there is often a long queue of traffic trying to turn right onto Colliters Way during rush hour, which in turn also delays traffic trying to turn left. Thank you for your help.
