Vandalised gate on shared cycle/pedestrian path, next to railway alongside Metrobus route (near Winterstoke Road Skew Overbridge), resulting in increased safety risk to shared users
Reported anonymously at 15:21, Sat 22 June 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1670554.
This gate has been like this for about 2 weeks. It represents a problem in that it now can't be closed and locked shut as intended (in line with the other sets of gates along this stretch) to enable adequate safety for both cyclists and walkers in this area of restricted visibility. It now can't be shut and is being left permanently wide open and unable to fulfil its intended safety/traffic calming purpose.

Bristol City Council obviously can't be arsed about this. Maybe because it accommodates cyclists over pedestrians (enabling them to maintain speed without having to slow down for anyone who might be coming towards them unseen) …?

Still no action on this. Bristol City Council clearly not in the slightest bit concerned about pedestrians’ safety. Will now take this up with my local Councillor.
