Concrete Obstruction on Road; Injury While Cycling!
Reported in the Obstruction category anonymously at 15:19, Sun 23 June 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1671163.
A concrete ramp/obstruction was built when the Bristol City Council built the station for the electric vehicle now parked at Wolferton Road. Why? This is now an obstruction for car tyres when parking and there is also SIGNIFICANT damage to the surrounding road which is resulting in small potholes forming. ACCIDENT: Last week I had an accident returning home on my bicycle coming in collision with this concrete ramp, falling off by bike, and grazing my elbow and knee. I have reported this obstruction at the time it was constructed, and no action took place, although the issue was reported as resolved. Please remove this concrete ramp, and also the same one on the other side of the ride. This has now been going on for quite a few months.

Whilst this is a dangerous obstruction, can I please urge you to take this advice: Don’t ride in the gutter, otherwise motorists will treat you like you belong there. Take a safe road position, at least 1 metre from the kerb

Thank you. Yes I always do cycle safely out of the curb as you say, but in this instance was coming to a stop, with a car speeding up the road, forcing me into the curb side. Please can this “dangerous obstruction” be removed as soon as possible. Yours Sincerely.
