Hole leading to cavernous space under road surface
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 14:03, Wed 24 July 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1707237.
There is a hole in the road on the outside of the line of parked cars, creating a large hazard for cyclists, as well as creating a risk for the situation to get much worse as the hole grows. While the hole is not itself huge, it gives way to a large cavernous space beneath the road surface, and although this has been reported on any number of occasion over a period of years, the issue is never properly fixed. Two weeks ago, around 5th July, the hole was filled. However, it's now reappeared. This is because a bit of material is put in hole and then patched over tarmac. The cavernous hole underneath is not being addressed at all. Please contact reporter to explain this.
