Fixed
2” + deep repair to hole on Buckingham Street, corner with Bartletts Road, sinking in
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 09:36, Mon 29 July 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 18 hours, 44 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1711778.
Around 7 weeks ago a hole in the road was ‘fixed’ after a member of the public contacted 101 and the police arranged a fix. This lasted for a couple of weeks before it started sinking back in. The hole is now so deep, just over 2 inch at its deepest point, that I can hear cars scraping their undercarriage as they turn into the road from my living room! This is now a health and safety issue where a cyclist could easily be dismounted if they hit the hole, a pedestrian could twist an ankle (or worse) if they go over on the edge whilst crossing the road or a car could attempt to swerve to avoid it and hit a parked car (it’s not a wide road). This really needs to be looked into and sorted before someone gets hurt.
