Temporarily fixed pavement at 10 Cobblestone Mews
Reported anonymously at 12:10, Tue 13 August 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1730478.
Thanks for doing the temporary fix (see attached picture). We have an email notification that the problem is fixed but we understand this is not strictly the case as we were told by the inspector and the guys who laid tarmac that you are going to put pennant stone down to replace tarmac. On that note, we actually have 5 pennant stones circa 40 cm x 60 cm (see photo attached) available that are flat (not like usual iceberg versions) that would be in keeping with the rest of the cobbled street and would fit the area nicely. Could you call us on 07789 717 028 or email us harrisonworrell@ntlworld about using these to replace the temporary tarmac with these? Just to say that the fix (as it is) may lead to cars mounting the pavement (due to the gentle incline created) so we feel it is important to have the pennants in place to deter this (as this behaviour of course created the problem in the first place).

Lack of joined up communication here - didn't know the guys would be coming and they weren't aware of the issue of it being a conservation street before coming. Having said that they were open to the very particular problem and more so when the problem opened up into a coal hole - probable reason for initial damage. Pavements here not made for heavy vehicles coming up onto pavement. The guys contacted council for advice first and fixed the problem really well. We are pleased with their solution and work. Job well done thank you
