Bike lane issue

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 23:51, Mon 28 March 2011

Hi.

I think your map is out of date because the new college and road linked to it in this area, is not on your map. There is a bike lane going from the Hartcliffe way round about to the college. However, the bike lane does not continue. Instead teh road narrows and the cylist is forced to pull out into the main driving lane, which recently involved me getting clipped by a car's wing mirror. This is really dangerous and I urge you to continue the bike land so it merges with the main driving lane, to make drivers more aware that the cuclist's path is about to be obstructed and they'll be forced to join the main lane.

please could you look into this. It was rather terrifying and it's a route I have to cycle every day. There also appears to be no alternative route.

  • Really pleased witht the way it was dealt with. Met up with francis who talked through my rights as a cyclist in terms of road positioning, took photos and listened to my concerns.
