Making good pavement after infrastructure works.
Reported in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 19:10, Wed 2 October 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1790294.
Infrastructure contractor have removed paving slabs to fit new water mains between 30 and 65 Upper Perry Hill. The need for these works is understood and not an issue. However the pavement making good after the below ground works have been finished does not match the pre-existing condition. Paving slabs have been cut short and filled with cement grout which will break loose. Also slabs move noticeably and sound hollow. These type of pavers must be laid on a full compacted bed of sand. Other slabs have been broken and not replaced. Detail does not follow BCC standard detail for reinstatements sheet SD-01-009 (rev C 2015 which I believe is still current) "block/slab footway construction" Please note that I have not provided a wide angle shot as I believe that someone from BCC should come and snag Murphy's work all the way between 30 and 65 Upper Perry Hill, these issues are all over.
