Pedestrian crossing stopping cyclists from mounting cycle path

Reported in the General Highways Enquiry category anonymously at 10:16, Tuesday 8 October 2019

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 day, 1 hour, 51 minutes later

If you are cycling towards SS Great Britian on Cumberland Road, when you cycle past Gaol Ferry Bridge there is a pedestrian crossing directly before the cycle path starts. Pedestrians gather at this crossing making it difficult/dangerous to get onto the cycle path. If there was a drop kerb a little further toward SS Great Britain after the pedestrian crossing then cyclists could cycle past the crossing and *then* mount the cycle path rather than trying to mount the cycle path at the same point that pedestrians are waiting to cross the road.
