The public drain outside the property is flooding and make access to the property difficult. Water backs up almost to the front door
Reported in the Flooding category anonymously at 11:36, Thu 10 October 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1799617.
I have only been in the property since the beginning of September and in that time there has been a least 6 occasions when the drain has blocked in heavy rain with in a matter of hours the drain cannot cope with the volume of water which then floods back towards my front door and does cover a proportion of the front garden. Once rain has stop it takes 2-4 hours before the water seeps away leaving my path covered in filth which I then have to clean up. I have spoken with the previous owner who lived here for 9 years and this has been an ongoing problem and appears to be happening more often

This problem has not been resolved and continues to cause problems nearly every time it rains and it can take at least 24 hours to the water to subside to a level to allow access to the property from the street

The above issue is not limited to causing issues with access to personal properties, during heavy rain the entire footpath is impassible. The other side of Eastfield Rd /Henleaze Rd junction gets flooded too so it really is very difficult to get up Eastfield Rd on foot. My 4 year old & I had to walk in the road, this is very dangerous and completely impossible for someone with a disability. Elderly residents on this street are unable to get from the bus stop at Lake Rd to their own homes due to the repeated flooding.

Even in what has been a relatively dry week this drain continues to cause problems the slightest spell of rain and it flows back towards my property. I know that it has been raised as a job to be done. But you are presented with two problems 1. the drain is blocked and never really clears the drain could be flushed and it would clear this. 2. The drain does not have the capacity to deal with the water flow and the leaves coming down Eastfield Rd.
