Poor condition slope and steps
Reported in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 17:16, Fri 11 October 2019
Sent to Bristol City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1801491.
The slope/stepped path that runs from Mendip Road down to Cotswold Road is overgrown, full of weeds, slippery due to moss in wet conditions, the railing hasn’t been painted for 20 years or more, it’s an uneven surface and needs overall general maintenance as we head into autumnal conditions

Site visit 18/11/19 Steps and flagstones somewhat overgrown with weeds and moss. We will direct our contractor to spray the overgrown areas and also add this path to our annual spraying list to keep the weed growth under control moving forward.
Although the pathway is not council adopted highway and there is no known recorded ownership, as a public right of way the council has a duty to maintain it in good repair. The steps and railings are old but in reasonable condition. There is currently no budget available to renovate this infrastructure but we will keep a watching brief on its condition.
