Pedestrian button "cancelled" itself 3 times

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 17:56, Sun 27 October 2019

Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later

Three of us waiting at the traffic lights to cross from the Tesco side to the Sainsbury's side.

I walked up, the light on the push button wasn't pressed, so I said "it helps if you press the button!!" And I did.

One girl stood there said she'd already pressed it twice and it went out. My press then disappeared (the light on the box went off again). I wouldn't have believed her otherwise.

So I pressed it again - this would be a FOURTH time - and kept it pressed in. The lights then changed.

It's really no wonder people ignore these lights and would rather run into oncoming cars because the lights have made life too short already. It's easier to take the risk.
