Manhole cover in bus lane. The tarmac is deteriorating so that whenever a bus/taxi drives over it, it makes a very loud noise.

I moved into no: 23 New Retort House some 2 months ago. The manhole cover has deteriorated a lot causing a loud noise whenever a bus or taxi drives over it. I overlook the manhole as my apartment is on the 3rd floor on the corner. Normally I can tolerate traffic noise but this is becoming intolerable. The manhole cover is in the bus lane just west of the bus stop. I hope photos are of some help.

  • Thank you so much for attending to this problem so promptly. I understand From the workmen that the manhole cover has cracked and so will be sorted by Bristol waterboard. I was the person who reported the problem in the first place as the noise from buses and taxis driving over the cracked manhole cover was causing a nuisance.
