Pelican crossing buttons not working correctly

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 21:44, Tue 17 December 2019

Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later

Press the button for green man and wait, then it cancels without turning green - this morning it happened five time before eventually stopping the traffic, getting the green man and allowing me to cross. This the pelican crossing on the Roman Way side of the Portway and the only crossing point for a considerable distance. Traffic is excessively fast at this point and there is no other way to cross the road.

Updates

  • The pelican button press is still Repeatedly cancelling itself prior to making the lights go red - this is the only crossing point on very long stretch of exceptionally fast, busy road used by cyclists and pedestrians. Please make it safer and quicker to cross the road.
