I hit this pothole at 5:30pm on Wed 08-Jan-20 whist cycling west bound on Eastfield Road. It was dark and raining so the pothole was full of water and I stood no chance of seeing it. I was able to stay on the bike but the impact was severe enough to blow out my rear tyre and break the fixings on my rear pannier. It is negligent in the extreme that BCC were told of this defect over a week earlier but didn't fix it. Do we have to wait for a cyclist to be seriously injured or worse before BCC take their statuary obligations seriously?
