Conditions of pavements BS6
Reported in the Pavement Defect category by Patricia Franey at 19:44, Sat 4 January 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1918491.
I and others have repeatedly reported the pavement issue in respect of a badly broken pavement across from 30 trelawney Rd and in addition an obstruction of the pavement by a builder for over 3 years I am writing to the mayor and MPs unless I get a satisfactory response from Fix My Street as to action to be taken to remedy this . This year we are going to take back OUR pavements in this city . I and others have a right as pedestrians . We intend to take action against BCC for negligence in ensuring OUR pavements are safe , clean and unobstructed . You have the resources and the enforcement powers and are choosing not to use them . You clearly can take an aggressive approach to enforcing parking in this area without consultation with residents we want to see you taking and using your powers in relation to OUR pavements . The mayor has a 2020 goal of cleaner streets . I intend that he knows the strength of feeling about this issue in Cotham , Clifton and Redland . We get shoddy council services in relation to pavements , street cleaning etc I would suggest you access Next Door social media community group to understand the strength of feeling about BCC and their inaction . I will be ringing this department tomorrow as another year can’t begin and pass with the council negating it’s responsibilities to all residents in this city rather then choosing to focus on its vanity projects . This is not a Green city it is a filthy city . The pavements are dangerous , rubbish strewn and rat infested . Bcc should be ashamed of itself I’m not even attempting to carry out its responsibilities in relation to the avalanche of complaints from residents . These are not new issues . Patience is tested by this process of reporting and year on year nothing happens .
