Deep pot hole
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 13:37, Tue 7 January 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1923544.
Last night i went over the handle bars of my bike coming down Hudds Vale Road due to my bike wheel getting caught in the pot hole (see image). Apologies for the poorly taken picture, but it was just after i'd come off my bike. I have been aware of this pothole for a while but managed to avoid it on my commutes to and from work due to me not usually coming DOWN the road in the dark...but this time i couldn't see it and it slipped my mind that it was there. I have damaged my bike (see image) and along with superficial cuts and bruises I have had to take the day off work as a self employed Sports massage practitioner because my shoulder was jarred and jolted when i landed on my elbow over the handle bars. I will also need to take public transport until my bike is back up and running.
Church Road is a nightmare for cycling, with potholes and bad road surfaces, hence why i take the back route so it is a shame that all routes seems to be hazardous for bikes.
I totally appreciate that you must be super busy but it would be great to know whether the roads around st george/speedwell/redfield are prioritised, as they are not ideal for commuting on a bike and I know BCC are urging people to get on bikes and public transport.
Thank you for reading this.

This is the road sign at the bottom of Hudds Vale Road entering onto Holmes Hill Road. With Holmes hill road in front of you the pot hole is VERY clearly on the left hand side of the road just up from the short pavement on that side.
