Pedestrian crossing - pedestrian detectors malfunctioning again

The sensors on the crossing at the bottom of Park Street appear to be malfunctioning again.

People are standing at the lights, waiting to cross, but the signal cancels itself.

  • You need to stand within 1 foot of the kerb to be seen by the sensors. If you stand further back, the sensor’s view I s obscured by the traffic lights and It cannot detect you. After a short period, the button press is cancelled. This could be fixed by moving the arm holding the sensor out further so that it can view more of the pavement by the crossing.
