Three to nearly four large potholes.
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 10:37, Tue 14 January 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1936412.
This has now escalated to three large potholes, which allowed large sized bits of concrete to jump on to the pavement and against cars. Not only is it hazardous for people who walk on the pavement, people entering their cars, but also for the cars driving up the hill with some speed. Accident is bound to be happing at some point. In addition previous repairs have been just filling up the pothole. However what really must happen is for the whole section to be fully repaired as it keeps happening at the moment of bad weather.

Caller stated that she is very concerned that stones and bits are going to damage cars. Also it could harm a cyclist. This is a major cut through.

What’s the councils legal requirement to fix the pothole in terms of timeframe as I can see these potholes have been reported for a while. I like just off the road and use this road regularly and I am concerned my car will be damaged sooner or later. Is the council going foot that bill?

These potholes are getting rapidly worse with traffic/weather. This is a heavily used road with nearby school and could present a danger to some of the children cycling to/from school.

I cycle up here and it can be very hard to avoid the pothole with queuing traffic in the other lane at the lights or cars attempting to pass you on the outside. If I was to cycle into the pothole I would almost certainly fall off - this needs to be fixed urgently before someone is seriously hurt.

Pot holes now have expanded and have got deeper, impacted by the heavy construction traffic to the housing development at the top of Kersteman Rd. They are deep and doubled in size. is on the main access route to a secondary school wear many children cycle to school. This could lead to injury or more serious consequences if a cyclist comes off especially with the traffic from Cranbrook Rd traffic lights that are now driving in the opposite side of the toad to avoid damage to their cars

Whilst the potholes were temporarily repaired (ie a van with a mixture of asphalt and concrete padded in with the contractors boots instead of actual tools); the potholes are reappearing jet again.
It’s now with urgency that this must be repaired efficiently, because I’m sure the way things are being managed is not cost effective nor safe. Cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles going past are in danger of being hit by lumps of concrete every time some drives over it. In addition, with the heavy vehicles using this road to work on a construction site up the road the road is not coping. Please can this be addressed with urgency.

The other potholes has started to reappear. They are at least 40mm deep – about the height of two 20p coins. Please can this be resolved as the council, has a legal duty to maintain it to a fit standard - the road as it now stands is fallen below this standard and proper repairs need to be done in order to avoid accidents.
Should there be an accident (ie a cyclist is hit by a piece of loose pavement, or a car is damaged). Surely the authority which was responsible for maintaining the road would have failed to do so properly. It would be deemed likely that you can successfully claim for repairs to cars or otherwise, in full.
Surely the council would like to avoid these claims and keep the road safe and in good condition. Therefore, please can something be done to eliminate this reoccurring issue!
