20+ loose or rocking paving stones plus holes
Reported in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 12:06, Thu 30 January 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1969365.
From Queens Avenue to University Road on the NW side along what your map calls Royal Promenade. I counted at least 20 dangerous paving stones this morning. In addition one or two services covers missing the concrete around them. A couple have white lines around them but not the others. At least one or two are also loose or broken on the raised slope at the bus stop. There is scaffolding outside two properties but these are neither causing the problem nor affecting the loose paving. This has been like this for weeks and months and gets worse. Occasionally the council comes out and fixes one or two paving stones - now removing them and substituting tar rather replacing the paving, but it is not enough. When the council / contractor attends they should be required to fix all the loose ones not just the single one outside a specific address that you have the photo for. You can stand there and hear the paving plink and plonk like people walking on a stone piano keyboard! It makes walking along there really hard as you have to walk really slowly, head down to be sure you don't end up tripping and falling and being injured. As has been posted here previously people have had serious falls on these paving stones.

This pavement is in a horribly dangerous state. Many loose slabs which rock as they are not fixed down at all. Why not surface the whole thing with one type of material ? This must be one of the busiest pavements in Bristol

A large number of paving stones along this street are loose and wobbly. They trap water underneath them when it rains and when stepped on they splash the water over your feet which is very frustrating. It is also extremely unsafe particularly for those who may be sight-impaired. I am fed up of this problem which needs to be fixed without further delay.
