Cyclists using the crossing from The Centre to gain the cycle route that eventually goes to the bottom of Park St and returning down the hill to the same junction. Pedestrians cannet at the moment distinguish beween the footpath crossing and th cycle path crossing and so stand and get in the way or cross and get in the way of cyclists attempting to cross and do the quite short left hand bend to reach the first bit of the cycle route, or if coming back downhill are forced to stop and swerve to avoid pedestrians in their way on the crossing.

What is wrong is that there is no really clear demarcation. The crossing needs needs to be coloured red and have a clear cycle logo in the middle and at either end. Colour seems to be the only way to really alert pedestrians and is used to great effect in the cycle route outside the Marriot Hotel further along this same route. There are almost no pedestrian incursions on that part of the route. Colour and kerbs seem to be a winning combination!
