Graffiti obscuring illumination of central road bollards

Reported in the Street Furniture category anonymously at 20:56, Monday 24 February 2020

Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later

This was reported over a month ago and I have just been advised by ‘Fix my Street’ this notification has been ‘Closed’. The problem has not been addressed or fixed, it still is as originally reported: The two bollards at the junction of Halsbury Road and Cairns Road have been covered in spray graffiti. When coming down H Rd towards the junction with Cairns it now is impossible to see the first bollard until the last moment. The bollard is offset very much to the left of the road and ordinarily cannot be seen, even without the graffiti, until the last moment due to the sharp LH placement and any parked car on the LH# obscuring this. Now, with the graffiti completely obscuring the bollard, this is seriously more likely to be unseen and an accident or tradgedy

  • Having reported this for the second time, after the first report was “closed” with no action to resolve despite being recorded as “passed” to the relevant department, this remains again unresolved. No further updates other than the acknowledgment of the reporting of the problem. It remains a distinct hazard and dangerous piece of street furniture.
