Serious damage to bridge structure

Reported in the Bridges/Subways category anonymously at 20:14, Tue 5 May 2020

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Major loss of section (75%?) due to rust in end vertical at the east end of this pedestrian bridge (the one highlighted on the overview) over the Malago in Marksbury Road open space. Needs a structural engineer to inspect. If I was inspecting this bridge I'd close it straight away - I can guess what the load path is today but doubt I could prove it with an acceptable factor of safety. Noticed today - not sure how long it has been like this.
