Pothole causing tyre damage
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 11:27, Fri 29 May 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2133802.
Reference to previous report: 2099230 The numerous cracks and defects in Silbury Road (due to construction lorries) creating pot holes, have been here for months (potentially a year now as we only moved in last spring). We have lost count of the times they have been patched, but they are still a risk to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. I have just had to have my tyre replaced for the second time in a few months.
As I have been furloughed from my part time job and lost most of my freelance work my car has only been used to drive to the shops a couple of times in the last 10 weeks. The garage suggested the split on the inner side of the tyre was caused by a kerb or pot hole as it is such a new tyre and there was no puncture. As my car hasn't driven over any kerbs I can only assume it is from the numerous holes I have to drive over to get out of my road.
Am I able to claim compensation for this? Are there plans to properly repair this road?
