A lane full of pot holes.
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 12:21, Wed 24 June 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2170649.
There are a number of large pot holes on the access road between Avebury Road and Ashton Vale School. These pot holes are large in width and depth and will cause injury to pedestrians or damage to vehicles. Some vehicles are BCC vehicles which use this access to empty rubbish, recycle, cash collections etc. The access road is also for delivery vehicles and residents. The damaged section of road does not belong to the school and was previously reported as complete in jobs referenced as 1853359 and 2140753. In the closing of the last case it was noted that BCC did not own the lane. However, I have this email. From: Derek Southway Sent: 15 July 2010 14:24 To: Head Ashton Vale Primary School <head.ashton.vale.p@bristol.gov.uk> Subject: Access Lanes Viv
Further to our earlier telephone conversation, I can confirm that the access lane (to the kitchen) is Local Authority land (under the control of Neighbourhoods) whilst the 'second' access lane at the other end of the site is under private ownership. The Authority's legal team are aware of this and were instructed to ensure that the schools access rights were retained for both of these lanes. From what I can recall the Council's records show that the Council has no formal rights over this 'second' access lane but that we may well have prescriptive rights. As a result Janet Hartnoll from legal was going to contact Nikki Carpenter to swear a statutory declaration confirming use of the lane - I assume that there was no problem with this.
I hope this helps, but please let me know if any problems.
Many thanks
Derek
