Loose and dangerous gravel and vegetation

Reported in the Pavement Defect category by Sam Marsh at 13:27, Monday 6 July 2020

Hi, I work in the area for SevernNet, improving access to sustainable travel in the area. There are several sections of the shared path (bike and pedestrians) between Avonmouth and Chittening with LOOSE and DANGEROUS gravel. The danger is a bike could easily skid on the gravel into the HGV traffic, especially at night, when many shifts take place in the area. The usable path width is as low as 20% in places due to gravel and vegetation issues. You can view the areas on our interactive map. The path needs to be wide enough and have a good enough surface stay safe from fast HGV traffic on the road. I am concerned this is a live hazard that could cause a cyclist fatality. if someone slips off that path. I am talking to local Councillors about the issue.
