Deep pothole

This is a large sunken manhole that you can't see in a small car until you hit it. It has destroyed the front nearside spring and suspension of our car so extreme care is needed when approaching the junction.

  • This has been reported to the council a number of times. This is the response from yourselves when I reported the problem. “We've referred the issue externally for appropriate action to be taken, as it's not something Bristol City Council is responsible for”. This is a dangerous sunken manhole which is causing vehicles to swerve to avoid it and is causing damage to vehicles that do not see it. If a cycle or motorbike were to hit this sunken manhole it could cause a serious collision. Please can the council chase this with the external provider or advise who the external provider is so that this can be progressed.

  • A job has been raised with our contractors to action this issue and appropriate repairs or maintenance will be undertaken as soon as they can.
