Column no. 4 removed and replaced with modern one by contractors. Caller wants to know why? She says that the Mayor stated that ornate lighting columns would be repaired and re-instated back where they came from. Is the modern lighting column temporary? How many more ornate columns are going to be removed and replaced with modern ones? Please contact/provide a written response. Caller will be emailing her concerns and has been advised to either contact her local councillor or submit a formal complaint.

35 more ornate lighting columns will be removed and replaced with modern ones. They won't be put back as we're currently melting them down and using the reclaimed iron to build a new set of railings for the council offices.
Many thanks, BCC
