Vehicles crossing on red at speed every day

Reported in the Traffic lights category by Jon Green at 17:31, Friday 24 July 2020

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Vehicles powered and cyclists travelling south along Cheltenham Road frequently go through their red light and cross traffic leaving North Road. Because of the bridge pier it is not possible to see these vehicles until the last minute and i have seen and been involved in several near misses. The traffic light on Cheltenham road needs to be clearer - maybe backed up by a penalty camera?

Updates

  • This remains a very dangerous junction as it is blind and vehicles (especially cyclists) coming down Cheltenham Rd do not stop at the red light under the Arches. Needs safety traffic light cameras
